Privacy Policy

Overview

Tolvan is an unofficial wallpaper browser that uses the public Wallhaven API, available on iOS and Android. Your privacy matters. Here is what you need to know:

• We do not create accounts or store personal information on our servers.
• Your optional Wallhaven API key is stored only on your device.
• The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, which may collect advertising identifiers. You are asked for permission first (via App Tracking Transparency on iOS).
• We do not sell your data to anyone.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information ourselves. Tolvan does not have a backend server, user accounts, or its own analytics.

The only data stored by the app lives on your device:

• Wallhaven API key: if you choose to connect a Wallhaven account, your API key is saved locally on your device. It is never transmitted to us.
• Local Favorites: wallpapers you save are stored locally on your device.
• App preferences: theme, feed selection, and filter settings are stored locally.

Third-Party Services

Wallhaven API: When you browse wallpapers, the app fetches content directly from wallhaven.cc using their public API. Your searches are sent to Wallhaven's servers. Tolvan is not affiliated with Wallhaven. Please review Wallhaven's Privacy Policy.

Google AdMob: The free version of Tolvan displays ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads. On iOS, Tolvan requests your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before AdMob is initialised. If you decline, only non-personalised ads are shown. You can manage tracking preferences in your device settings at any time. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Apple / Google Play: Purchases and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). We do not process or store payment information.

Advertising and Tracking

The free tier of Tolvan uses Google AdMob for banner advertisements. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to show personalised ads, subject to your consent.

Tolvan Pro subscribers do not see ads. Once subscribed to Pro, AdMob is not initialised and no advertising identifiers are used.

Data Retention and Deletion

We do not collect personal data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete. All data (favorites, preferences, API key) lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Children's Privacy

Tolvan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app only shows safe-for-work content (Wallhaven's purity filter is locked to SFW).

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
